The Village of Rio Grande no longer operates its own water plant. In 2004, the Village began purchasing water from Gallia County Rural Water. Due to the increasing cost of operating its own water system, the Village felt it was in their best interest to begin purchasing the water.
The Village of Rio Grande operates and maintains a wastewater treatment plant.
The water and sewer service bills are combined. The current inside the village, minimum bill (<2500 gallons) is $63.38; $32.18 is for water services and $31.20 is for sewer services. The current outside the village minimum bill (<2500 gallons) is $75.19; $41.84 for water services and $33.35 for sewer services.
Water and sewer bills are mailed out on the 1st of each month and they are due by the 15th of that month. For any questions regarding water and sewer services, please call (740) 245-5089.

Maintenance:
The Village of Rio Grande Maintenance Department is second to none. They plow the streets in the winter, patch the streets and repaint crosswalks and fire hydrants in the summer, as well as mowing and weed eating the Village Park and other Village-owned property.

Village of Rio Grande offers the convenience of accepting MasterCard, Discover, American Express and Visa credit cards for Water and Sewer payments. The payment processing company charges a service fee of 2.65% or $3.00 minimum to cardholders who use this service. Just stop by our office or give us a call at 740-245-5089 to use your MasterCard, Discover Card, American Express or Visa.

Now you can pay your ENTER YOUR PAYMENT ITEMS from the comfort of your home or office by using our online payment service. Credit cards accepted: MasterCard, Discover, American Express or Visa. A per transaction service fee of 2.65% or $3.00 minimum will be charged by the payment processing company for this service.
Electronic Check Payments
YOUR CITY/TOWN NAME now accepts electronic check payments using our online payment service. Payments will be charged to your checking or savings account at your bank. You will need your 9-digit routing number, as well as your account number from your personal checks (see example below). A per transaction service fee of $1.50 will be charged by the payment processing company for this service.
